Abstract: The anatomic structures of Tertiary coal-forming plant remains in Xiaolongtan Basin were studied systematically in this paper. Main species were identified. The association and distribution of plant communities and their relationship with coal-formation were discussed. The cause for the formation of coal quality strips was interpreted. It provided new material for the research of plant paleoecology and their coal-forming role.
