Abstract: By the method of instantaneous and scan sampling, this paper investigated the daily activity and time budget of quasi-wild (Grus japonensis) in its wintering at Yancheng and Zhalong Nature Reserves in January 2005. At Yancheng Nature Reserve, a natural wintering habitat of G.japonensis, the time budget of male and female adults had no significant difference, but was significantly different to that of the immatureness. At Zhalong Nature Reserve, a natural breeding habitat of G.japonensis, there was a significant difference in the behaviors of feeding, locomotion, body care and resting between male and female adults and immatureness, and the wintering adults and immatureness adopted different strategies to adapt to low temperature environment.
