    1989, (2):  5-9.
    Asbtract ( 3974 )   PDF (456KB) ( 211 )
The natural reserve of Ailao Mountain is located in the west-central part of Yunnan province. It is typically characterized by southern subtropical mountains. The vertical distribution of different soils is very clear. Analyses of soil samples indicate that the contents of soil organic matter and humic acid and the ratio of HA/FA are positively correlated with the altitude, but fulvic acid is in negative correlation.

Cyathen spinulosa is a rare relic palaeophyte which is widely spreaded over Chishui county and grows well. The investigation shows that C. spinulosa is mainly distributed in north slopes of valleys and moist environments under 500m above sea level. The community is dominated by Phanerophyte, the types of its leaf are mainly small-medium, coriaceus and simple leaves. The community consists of 23 species of bryophyte and pteridophyte, 82 species of seed plant belonging to 38 families and 67 genera. Three community types and the regeneration of C.spinulosa are discussed in the paper.

    Asbtract ( 1270 )   PDF (380KB) ( 198 )
The amount and infectivity of root nodules endophyte on Hippophae rhamnoides and the effectiveness of artificial inoculation were studied in different soils of Shanxi province by pot experiments. The results indicate that soils with no H. rhamnoides growing before have small numbers of root nodules endophyte. The effectiveness of inoculation is different in various soils and is better in yellow loam than in others. H. rhamnoides grown in yellow loam has the highest yield. The quantity of root nodules cndophyte on H. rhamnoides is larger in the 10—30 cm soil layer.

This paper studies the natural regeneration and developing prospects of Japanese Red Pine (Pinus densiflora) forest in Shandong Peninsula. The results indicate that Japanese Red Pine forest has a strong ability of natural regeneration and is very a dapted to the ecological conditions of its distribution region. For this reason, although it is seriously harmed by two kinds of injurious insects, Japanese Red Pine forest should still be retained and developed in Shan dong Peninsula with various methods and means, such as artificial management, closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation, setting up a good ecosystem, etc.
Influences of Thermal Pollution on Behaviour of Fish
    Jiang Lifan, Chao Chuihe
    1989, (2):  23-25.
    Asbtract ( 1324 )   PDF (291KB) ( 184 )
This experiment was intended to determine the effects of different temperatures on several freshwater fishes (black carp, grass carp, silver carp etc.) The ultimate upper lethal temperature was found to be 40.5—42℃ and the critical maximum temperature varied from 38 to 41.5℃ for fishes acclimatized at 28 to 32℃. An attempt was also made to determine the avoidance reaction and respiratory frequency of fishes in gradient temperatures. The results provided foundations for estimating the water temperature critelia of freshwater fish.
Status of Fagaceae in Forest Vegetations on the North Slope of Dabie Mountain
    Qian Hong
    1989, (2):  26-30.
    Asbtract ( 1215 )   PDF (470KB) ( 251 )
There are 6 genera, 19 species and 2 varieties belonging to Fagaceae, making up about 1.5% of the total spermatophyta species in the study area, but the coverage of vegetations dominated by Fagaceae makes up of 60—70%. Vegetations dominated by Fagaceae can be classified into 10 types. Their regular distribution forms a vertical vegetation spectrum. In this area, there are 6 big reserviors, all surrounded with these vegetations. They play a significant role in conserving water and soil and prolonging the service life of reserviors. Besides, a lot of precious, rare and endangered plant species are growing among these vegetations. Therefore, Fagaceae occupies an important status in forest vegetations on the north slope of Dabie Mountain.
Summer Standing Crop of Primary Production in Mountain-meadow Ecosystem of Huanggang Mountain
    Xu Jian, Lu jianjian
    1989, (2):  31-33.
    Asbtract ( 1272 )   PDF (277KB) ( 247 )
Summer standing crops of three vegetation types in the mountain-meadow ecosystem of Huanggang Mountain were studied. Results showed that (1).biomass in the mountain-meadow area was 1.6—2.6 times of that in alpine-meadow area in Qinghai, and (2).there was a quite large mass of primary production in southern China mountain areas available for animal husbandry.
A Review on Contemporary Computer Models of Forest Dynamics
    Shao Guofan
    1989, (2):  34-37.
    Asbtract ( 1212 )   PDF (403KB) ( 164 )
This paper reviews 4 kinds’of computer models of forest dynamics, including Markov model of forest succession developed by Horn(1975),transition matrix model of forest growth by Buongiorno and Michie(1980), distance-d(?)pendent forest growth models by Newnham and Smith (1964),and gap model of forest dynamics by Botkin(1972).Introducticns and evaluations are systematically made for these models.Considelations about selecting and using these models are also proposed.
Relations between Farmland Ecological Factors and Rice Diseases and Pests
    Tan Yinchu
    1989, (2):  38-40,45.
    Asbtract ( 1190 )   PDF (411KB) ( 188 )
The main farmland ecological factors affecting population constitution of rice diseases and pests in Hunan province include the reform of cropping systems, the improvement of cultural practices and the renewal of rice varieties.Among which, the first is the main factor, the second is an important condition, and the last is the material base. From now on integrated management should be strengthened to improve the farmland ecological conditions and reduce the discase and pest damages.
Formation,Distribution and Application of Dominant Species in Forest Vegetations
    Qi Jingen
    1989, (2):  41-45.
    Asbtract ( 1287 )   PDF (478KB) ( 171 )
Correlations between geographic distribution of plants and environment in eastern regions of China were discussed in the paper, Forest vegetations have a zonal distribution from north to south, which corresponds closely with the distribution of dominant species. The formation and distribution of dominant species ate determined by the high coincidence of plant biological habits with the envitonment, The presence of environmental g(?)adient and difference in plant biological and ecological habits is an important inside factor forming the geographic substitutional distribution of dominant species, These two concepts are very useful for the mapping of forest vegetations.

    Gou Xiaohong
    1989, (2):  46-49.
    Asbtract ( 1106 )   PDF (399KB) ( 250 )
The concept of ecological niche in natural ecosystem is re-interpreted in man-made ecosystem, and the niche theory is applied to the paddy field ecosystem. The nichs efficiency is significantly improved by intrducing new ecological units and directively regulating the factor space of economy-ecology for the int(?)grated utilization of paddy field.

    Asbtract ( 1144 )   PDF (297KB) ( 177 )
This paper claims that modern society should realize the transition from economic management to eco-economic management. This transition should include strategy, policy, planning, economic demenstration, supervision and accounting all aspects of economic mamagement. In the behaviour of management, it includes the transitions of objective, principle, methods, institution and function of management. It a(?)ms at the development of national ecenomy and the improvement of environmental quality.

    Asbtract ( 1207 )   PDF (292KB) ( 179 )
An experiment on the complex structure of fruit tree-mushroom was made in Luancheng county of Hebei province. The tesults show that the ecological environment of orchard is an ideal environment for the growth of mushroom. Under the condition of this structure, 50—800kg/·(0.0667ha)-1(equivalent to 500—800 yuan) of fresh mushroom can be harvested, and the output of fruit is 400 yuan.
