Abstract: This paper reviews 4 kinds’of computer models of forest dynamics,including Markov model of forest succession developed by Horn(1975),transition matrix model of forest growth by Buongiorno and Michie(1980), distance-d(?)pendent forest growth models by Newnham and Smith (1964),and gap model of forest dynamics by Botkin(1972).Introducticns and evaluations are systematically made for these models.Considelations about selecting and using these models are also proposed.
