Landscape visualization and its applications.

Abstract: This paper introduced the concept of landscape visualization, gave retrospection of its advance course, presented the visualization methods of main landscape elements such as topography, vegetation, water body, artificial structure (architectures and infrastructures, etc.), animals (including human), atmosphere and light, and elaborated the applications of landscape visualization in landscape planning, landscape change, climate change, urban landscape, landscape visual impact assessment, and forest management. The development trends of landscape visualization were also proposed.
