Abstract: The exploited features of the population resource of hairtail fish under heavy exploitation and biological characters of this fish to withstand the heavy exploitation were described. The catchable amount of the hairtail fish according to the reproductive equation and Schaefer's model was discussed. Finally, suggestions of the preservation of young fish and rational exploitment based on the present resource were put forward.
