Abstract: Constructing ecological networks to strengthen the connection between fragmented habitats is one of the effective approaches for biodiversity conservation. Taking the headwaters region of the Dongjiang River in Jiangxi as an example, we constructed ecological networks using minimal cumulative resistance model, and evaluated the connectivity of ecological networks and landscape functions using integral index of connectivity, probability index of connectivity, and morphological spatial pattern analysis methods. Results showed that the ecological networks of the headwaters region of the Dongjiang River consisted of 15 ecological sources, 14 key ecological corridors, and nine stepping stones. The ecological networks constructed in this study would promote the connectivity between ecological sources in the headwaters region of the Dongjiang River and improve the integrity of green landscapes. Our results provide guidance for the construction of ecological networks in the headwaters region of the Dongjiang River.

Key words: ecological network, ecological corridor, minimal cumulative resistance model, MSPA, headwaters of the Dongjiang River.
