Abstract: In the course of adjustments in the agricultural structure of Gansu province Centred on treeand grass planting a great number of ecological villages and families appeared recently.The types and structures of these families and villages and their functions in protectingnatural resources,controling water and soil erosion and improving ecological environmentof loess plateau were discussed.
