Fuzhou is one of fourteen cities opening to the foreign countries in China. This article deals with the prediction of the ecological situation along its coastal region in the year of 2000.The ways to deal with the possible pollution and keep the balance of the coastal ecosystem were proposed.

The pre-evaluation of urban environment quality is to predict the changing tendency of the environment if the urban designing plan will be achieved. It is different from“the evaluation of the enyironmental effects”used now in a general sense. It can give a judge of a main city planning from a point view of the future environment change, which will help the authority to make a decision of which Plan would be better.

The temperature and ground temperature in particular is the key factor influencing appreciably the growth and development of tea spring shoots.Water supply can be negligible when the rainfall is great enough to meet the needs of tea growth in spring, concidering freeze in jury, tea plantation in the area off the south of Yangtze River with the elevation of no more than 700 meters above sea level are advisable.
Relations of photosynthetic Area of Crown Leaves and Potential Use of Solar Energy to Crown Profile Area

The calculation results based on 84 samples show that the crown leave area is proportional to the crown profile area. The ratio Kincreases with increasing growth rate of the growing frees. The dominant tree has the biggest value of the ratio K,which is a little bigger than 1.0.The potential use of the solar energy by the crown is positively correlated tothe crown profile area.

Some multiple cropping systems of intercropping and interplanting in Fenqiu County,Henan Province were developed and studied. They were the systems of“wheat,rape-maize,soybean”and“wheat,rape-cotton”.These cropping systems enhanced ecological and economic benefits of farmland. It was one of the important strategies for harnessing the Huang-Huai-Haiplan.
Effects of Different Watering on Rhizosphere Microbe and Physiological Activities of Root Winter Wheat System in Its Main Development Stages

This paper incicated that the rhizosphere microbes in main development stages of winter Wheat did not show any significant differences under full and intermittent watering.Only the total amounts of rhizosphere bacteria in the stages of turning green and elongation were higher under full watering than intermittent watering.Rhizosphere bacteria were mainly gramnegative bacilli. The amounts of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in elongation and blooming stages were bigger under intermittent watering. The rhizosphere effect in the blooming stage is more significant.Respiration rate of winter wheat root system in the blooming stage ishigher under intermittent watering than full watering,The nitrogen-fixing activity of root system in the elongation stage is higher than other stages.

The types of injurious insects of major agricultural plants such as rice, wheat, cotton and other grain crops and the factors causing their succession were studied. The results indicated that the dynamic of insect population was closely related to environmental factors.Wellknowing the dynamic of insect population and the factors causing it was the key point to ecologically control the injurious insects. The ecological controlling might be made through a good cultivative strategies to keep“crop-insect-natural enemy”system in good balance.

Locust,a serious injurious insect, might be used as a source of protein. The transformation efficiency from fresh grass to crude protein by locust is 12.1%.The ecological engineering of artificial breeding locust is designed, which is including the system of the sun-grass-locust-animal(birds or frog)-earthwarm-marsh gas(methane-generating pit)-grass.The economic and ecological benefits from the ecological engineering was discussed.

The effect of atmospheric fluoride on the herb of
Gladiolus gandavensis
was studied. The result indicated that this plant is a desirable indicator for the pollution caused by atmospheric fluoride. The leaves became scorched when the fluoride concentration in air reached to 0.6μg/dm
2
·d during the blooming period. The accumulation of fluoride in the leaves is positivly correlated to the concentration of fluoride.
