The ecology of zooplanktons in upper and lower reaches of Changjiang River near Gezhou Dam was investigated before and after damming up the River. It was shown that in the middle of the River, the species and amounts of zooplanktons were the same as 20 years ago, but in standing and slowly flowing areas in front of the Dam, they were obviously increased. In the upper reaches from Nanjinguan and lower reaches from Yichang, no or less changes were found.

This paper preliminarily deals with the diffusion pattern of air fluoride, distribution pattern of fluoride pollution and influence of this pollution on herbages in western part of Baotou iron and steel plant. Results show that: 1. a stepwise change with the distance of pollution source and a significant correlation can be found for the concentration of air fluoride and the content of fluoride in herbages; 2. no obvious influence of fluoride pollution is appeared for the growth and development of herbages.

The season structure of tropical rain forest regions in Southern Yunnan has a significant difference with the climate structure of typic tropical rain forest. It has five season stages with different combinations of drought, humidness, cold and hotness. Therefore, tropical forest in Southern Yunnan although has the fundamental characteristics of tropical rain forest, yet exhibits significant variances and distinct season phases in particular. Such a kind of rain forest with seasonal features is called chinese type seasonal rain forest. Under the influence of this climate rhythm, the introduced Brazilian rubber tree exhibits some new characteristics.

Evergreen broadleaf trees grown on hilly lands of Dongtinghu area consist of 6 populations. These populations except that of camphor tree have more stable structure and components, being zonal vegetations of this area. They are cold-resistant and occur in the northern distribution limit of evergreen broadleaf trees, exhibiting characteristics of transition from northern Asian tropical vegetation to central Asian tropial vegetation. In the forests, there are 268 species (156 genera, 84 families) of plants with vascular bundle.

The life history of
Tetranychus cinnabariinus
(Bosduval)(Acari:Tetranychidae)was investigated under two light conditions of 15hr (9hr dark)and 9hr (15hr dark with constant temperature (29℃) and relative humidity (60—80%). The periods of life cycle, preoviposition and oviposition, oviposition rate, sex ratio, net reproductive rate, mean generation time, and intrinsic and finite increasing rates were determined respectively.

Guangming oversea Chinese livestock farm is situated in the north-west of Shenzhen City of Guangdong. It primarily raises cows. The products are exported to Hong Kong. They can meet 70 per cent of demand of Hong Kong market.Based on the on-the-spot investigation, the author puts forward a basic ecologic agricultural model for this farm and approaches the ways of giving full play to its economic, ecologic, environmental and social efficiencies.

This paper introduces the concept and count method of Kira's warmth index (WI) and coldncss index (CI). Based on WI, humidity index (HI=P/WI) is proposed by the author, where p is the mean annual precipitation (mm). Correlations between the distribution of 43 tree species and thermal status in northeastern China are studied. The WI of distribution limit of trees in mountainous regions of northeastern China is 15℃. month. The border line between forest and grassland has the HI value of 7.5 mm/℃. month, and that between forest grassland and steppe, 5.2mm/℃. month.

The micro-structure of
Trichogramma evanescens
's mouthpart and hostegg is observed by the author. It's considered that Trichogramma evanescens's mouthpart is a new type of special mouthparts of insects, and hostegg supplies the needs of nutrients and respiration-metabolism for
Trichogramma evanescens
's larva. Therefore, hostegg can be considered as the micro-habitat for the growth and development of
Trichogramma evanescens

Since 1970, Duanjiafan village of Macheng County has paid much attention to the forestry production. As a result of 13 years' effort, 6,432mu of land has been afforested, and the covering rate of forest is 80%. In doing so, the ability against natural calamities is enhanced, soils are ameliorated, crop yields are increased, and the stand storage of wood is increased to 72%.

Based on the analysis of three types of management (intensive, general and extensive) in the growth period of tung trees, it's concluded that the biological productivity of tung trees is increased with increasing management level. The productivity under intensive management is twice as much as that under extensive management. Therefore, to enhance the management of tung trees can effectively increase their productivity.
