Abstract: Conservationists maintaining the health and diversity of natural systems by protecting habitats is becoming increasingly difficult and sophisticated because of the grow ing of human population. To solve this problem, minimum viable population( MVP), a new theory, has been established. This theory focuses on the minimum conditions of the viability of species. The concept of MVP, determining method of MVP, and application in wildlife conservato in were discussed in this paper .

Key words: sandy beaches, meiofauna, abundance, biomass, vertical distribution.
