Abstract: Plot investigations indicate that the fruiting percentage of Larix gmelinii increases with theincrease of DBH.After a medium forest fire, seed producticn reduces in 1—2 years.By flower bud investigation in August,Seed production is predicted for the proceeding year, which is verified to be reliable and feasible. From the consideration of short shoot consumption in a major seed year, the fruiting periodicity of Larix gmelinii is estimated as3—4 years, which is also supported by the data of fruiting interval investigation for individual trees.Unfavorable events such as late frost or drought can delay the major seedyear, but favorable climate can not shorten the time interval between two major seed years.
