Abstract: Heavy metals are toxic substances that may cause damages to normal organisms.Remediation of heavy-metal contamination has become an important and urgent issue.Bioremediation with biosurfactants has been paid more attention for their good biodegradation capability and compatibility. This paper reviewed the methods and mechanisms of remediation of heavy-metal contaminated soil and wastewater with biosurfactants.Effect of some factors on metals complexation, such as pH value, biosurfactants concentration and speciation of heavy metal contamination were analyzed.
