Abstract: This paper studied calyx diameter, nectar amount, the number of visiting bees and seed yield of ten alfalfa varieties. The results showed that there were significant correlations between nectar amount per m2 and the number of visiting bees, the number of visiting bees and seed yield,as well as calyx diameter and nectar amount per m2,with the r value 0.87,0.93 and 0.99 respectively.Sitel and Derby varieties in Lanzhou area could produce seeds with high yield and good quality.
