Abstract: With the rapid development of economy, marine ecological resources are destroyed seriously in China，while the study of their ecological compensation is advantageous to their management.Considering of the weakness in studying the ecological compensation of nature resources, and the deficiency of the studies on ecological compensation of marine ecological resources in China, this paper analyzed the basic issues of marine ecological compensation, i . e . , stakeholder analysis, compensation standard, and compensation approach, which would be helpful in extending the research field on ecological compensation. It was pointed out that ecological compensation of marine ecological resources should include economic compensation, resources compensation, and habitat compensation. The research directions on marine ecological compensation were put forward, including the value evaluation of marine ecological resources, and the theoretical and case studies on their ecological compensation.
