Abstract: The amount and infectivity of root nodules endophyte on Hippophae rhamnoides and the effectiveness of artificial inoculation were studied in different soils of Shanxi province by pot experiments. The results indicate that soils with no H. rhamnoides growing before have small numbers of root nodules endophyte. The effectiveness of inoculation is different in various soils and is better in yellow loam than in others. H. rhamnoides grown in yellow loam has the highest yield. The quantity of root nodules cndophyte on H. rhamnoides is larger in the 10—30 cm soil layer.
