Abstract: The serum LDH isoenzyme activities of 42 heads of Ebian Black-white Cattle from 740 to 2050 meters above sea level were measured by using acetate cellullose thin layer electrophoresis. The results showed that the effect of elevation on serum LDH isoenzyme content of Ebian Black-white Cattle was significant. The content of LDH was increased, but that of LDH3 was decreased with increasing elevation.Regulating the content of LDH is one of metabolic strategies for the cattle to adapt to the elevation changes.
