城市森林鸟类多样性与功能组成沿干扰梯度的变化

摘要: 城市化是生物多样性丧失的最重要原因之一,如何在城市化过程中维持物种的存续是人类面临的重大挑战。目前对城市化导致的不同干扰强度如何影响鸟类群落结构,尤其是功能组成及多样性,还存在较多不确定性。本研究选择广州市典型城市森林(广东省龙眼洞林场)作为研究地点,通过在城市森林中开展鸟类群落调查,分析物种多样性和组成、功能多样性和性状分布格局,探索不同干扰强度下的城市森林鸟类群落结构及基于性状的生态策略的变化规律。结果表明,不同干扰强度的城市森林鸟类物种数量及组成没有明显的差异,但功能丰富度随干扰增强显著升高;中等干扰的森林中,鸟类功能离散度最高(单峰型),功能冗余度最低,并且鸟类体型和体重的功能优势度均显著高于低、高干扰的森林(单峰型)。窝卵数的功能优势度随干扰强度增加显著降低。研究结果揭示了鸟类适应不同干扰强度城市森林的生态策略,为城市化过程中如何保护鸟类群落及其功能组成提供重要的依据,包括在城市绿地的规划、建设和管理、栖息地的生态修复等关键领域的应用。

Abstract: Urbanization is one of the primary causes of biodiversity loss, presenting a major challenge to human’s efforts to maintain species diversity. However, there are substantial uncertainties regarding how disturbance intensity associated with urbanization affects bird community, particularly in terms of functional composition and diversity. We carried out bird surveys in the urban forests of Longyandong Forest Farm in Guangzhou, a megacity in southern China, and analyzed diversity and trait distribution patterns, aiming to examine shifts in bird community structure and trait-associated ecological strategies under varying disturbance intensities. The results showed that bird species richness and composition did not differ significantly across disturbance levels, and functional richness increased significantly with rising disturbance intensity. Functional dispersion peaked at the intermediate disturbance intensity, showing a unimodal relationship, and was associated with the lowest functional redundancy. At intermediate disturbance levels, functional dominance in terms of body size and weight was significantly higher than that in both low- and high-disturbance forests, showing a unimodal pattern. In contrast, functional dominance related to clutch size decreased significantly with increasing disturbance intensity. Our findings elucidate how the ecological strategies of birds shift along a gradient of disturbance intensity in urban forests, which provides important support for guiding bird conservation and the maintenance of their functional composition during urbanization, particularly in the planning, construction and management of urban green spaces, and the ecological restoration of habitats.
