The vegetation data of the forest community in Wanmulin Nature Reserve, Fujian Province, were used as the information for analyses of flora and species diversity. The vascular plants collected and known in the region are 161 families, 581 genera and 1205 species, including 30 families, 49 genera and 112 species of Peridophyte, 7 families, 12 genera and 14 species of Gymnospermae, 124 families, 520 genera and 1079 species of Angiospermae. The floristic elements in the region are complex, and the total amounts of tropical distribution type to 58.65%. The species diversity and composition diversity of family_genus_species are both high. The species diversity is the hightest on tree synusia, and decreases in order from tree to shrub to vine synusia to herb synusia in the plots.

The essential factor making cotton seedling too weak and late growth was that the shade of wheat influenced on soil temperature of the cotton rows. There were distinct relationship between soil temperature on the cotton rows and the shade degree of wheat on the interplanting field of spring cotton with wheat. The shade degree of wheat to cotton row was reduced with widing the distance between cotton and wheat rows and was increased with height of the wheat plants. Therefore, It was neassasary for interplanting spring cotton with wheat to determine rational separation of cotton and wheat; to select suitable variety of wheat favorable for growth of cotton seedling and to built rational population structure favorable for increasing yields of the wheat.

The soil permeability in coastal protective forests with different tree species and ages were studied in the paper. The results indicated that protective forests could significantly improve soil permeability. The soil permeation amount in the forest land is increased 2 to 79 times compared with that of no vegetation land. The soil permeation amount in mature forest land is increased by 70.6% to 364.8% compared with that in young forest land.

Sapium sabiferum Roxb. was introduced from subtropical area to Shandong, the warm temperate area located north latitude 34°25′~38°23′ and east longitude 114°36′~122°43′ during 1950. The trees growing in the eastern and southern parts of Shandong performed perfectly in height and diameter growth, flowering and fruiting, but less in branch growing and fruit yield under the conditions of lower mean annual temperature and mean Jan.temperature, less≥10℃ effective accumulated temperature and precipitation compared with provenances.

    Asbtract ( 1174 )   PDF (187KB) ( 252 )
he temperature_limiting values for larva of Liza haematocheila Temminck. et Schlegel.(mullet) were studied. When the temperature, acclimated to 25, 31, 34, 36℃, the UILT were 36 8, 37 5, 38 5 and 38 8℃, respectively. The UUILT was 38 8℃. The larva mullet's temperature_limiting values were UILT-2℃, repectirely. MWAT of larva mullet was 30 1℃, maximum temperature for short_termexposure was 36 3℃. The last two temperature_limiting values were important criteria for heat discharge.

Azure_winged magpie (Cyanopica cyana) is a kind of resident bird mainly distributed in the low elevation (altitude below 900m) in Changbai Mountain. The birds begin to mate in later March every year. The flourishing period of building nests is from May 1 to 10. The great majority of nests are built on the middle and upper parts of the artificial larch (Larix olgensis); A full clutch consists of 4-9 eggs, with the average is 7 eggs. The Incubation is carried out by female and lasts for 16-19 days. The nestling begin to leave from the nest after 17-19 days. The percentage of the nestlings alive averages 73.2%. The young birds are feeded chiefly with insects of Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and Orthoptera. Basid on the growth measuring of the young birds, the Logistic equation of the weight, body length and wing length, were established.
Effects of Spartina anglica to the Soil Habitats of Perenereis aibuhitensis
    Zhao Qingliang, Zhao Qiang
    1997, (2):  28-30.
    Asbtract ( 1218 )   PDF (150KB) ( 335 )
The Spartina anglica living in interlidal zone obviously affected the soil habitats of Perenereis aibuhitensis. The NH4+_N concentration in the soil was reduced, while the organic matter and the porosity were increased. S.anglica altered both the physical structure and the chemical character of the substrate, apparently fastering the annelid infauna.

Hou Fujiang, Ben Guiying, Han Fa, Shi Shengbo, Wei Jie
    1997, (2):  31-35,16.
    Asbtract ( 1225 )   PDF (591KB) ( 232 )
Plants have an integral adaptive mechanism to solar UV-B radiation from plant morphology to physiological action and the formation of UV-Bradiation absorption pigment is very significant. There is the close interrelation between plant adaptive mechanism and its origin and distribution, which has the profound molecular basis. It is important to strengthen study on the enhancing solar UV_B radiation instead of being afraid of or optimistic about it in order to solve the uncertainties and make scientific decision.

    Asbtract ( 1348 )   PDF (433KB) ( 402 )
The Three_Gorge Project which is builded in the present has been and will have great influences on the agricultural production in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, such as Jianghan Plain Area. In accordance with the characteristics of the resources and agricultural eco_environment as well as the influences of the Three_Gorge Project, the agricultural sustainable development in the area must be started from bringing the eco_environment under comprehensive control and rebuilding the agricultural eco_economic systems. Based on scientific program and rational distribution, to drain waterlogged areas, to give farmland back into lakes, to build irrigation and drainage works and to develop farming_afforested_stockbreeding_fishculturing compound eco_economic models have to be done.

Based on survey of the rich literature ,the biodiversity of bryophytes in different levels of species, genetics and ecosystems in the world as well as in China was introduced. The results showed that the bryodiversity of bryophytes is much richer than people thought. Recent activities on conservation of biodiversity of bryophytes organized by the International Association of Bryologists(IAB) were presented. The suggestions for better conservation of biodiversity of bryophytes in China were put forward in the paper.

Meanwhile, the theoretical and practical significance of genecology was also pointed out. Genecology will become a new hot topic and help people better understand the relationships between organisms and environments.

Over_wintering ecology of the white_crowned long_tailed pheasant in the north side of Dabie Mountain in the South of Henan Province had been observed from 1992 to 1994. The white_crowned long_tailed pheasant perched in the wood_land mainly coniferous forest and broadleaf forest, in the mountain valley from 300-900m above sea level. In winter they acted by small groups and stayed overnight on the branches of big trees. There were two obvious heights of acting and feeding in the morning and evening every day. The birds were omnivorous in food habits and feeded mainly with plants in the winter.

By means of the theory and methods of agricultural ecosystem succession, the changes of the Experimental Farm of Shihezi Agricultural College during past forty years were analysed. The research used the method of the three_dimensional cube to analyze the succession characteristics of farming, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline production and fishery in the ecosystem. The results showed that with development of the market economy, the industrial structure of experimental farm had changed. The crop planting and livestock breeding had been arranged according to the regional ecology_economy in order to use of potential resourses linking their characteristics and raising economic, social and environmental benefits.
