Ecological potential of laudscape consists of its productive potential, ecological potential and priceless po-tential. Through calculating different productive potentials(photosynthetic potential,light-temperature potential, climatic potential and land potential)of agricultural and semi-natural landscapes in Dongling District of Shenyang,it is concluded that the photoutilization rate of crops in this district can be largedy increased.Soil fertility is the main limiting factor in improving agricultural production.Upland farming has the highest photo, utilization rate. The climatic productive potential of forest is higher than that of upland farming and lower than that of vegetable and rice production. This area should strongly develope the production of vegetables and increase the coverage of forest.
Forest Structural Modification in Improving Self-regulating Capability of Pine Forest Against Dendrolimus Puncts
    Zhou Shijuan, Peng Jianwen
    1993, (5):  9-12.
    Asbtract ( 1256 )   PDF (375KB) ( 171 )
This paper describes the significant changes of forest biological structcure, succeeding from sparse purepine forest to pine-shrub mixed forest and to multi-layer pine-broadleaved mixed forest communityduring three decades of closing mountains and rearing forests. The Natural parasiting rates of 1st-3rd generations of Dendrolimus puncts are respectively increased by 41.09-67.49%,which devastates the e-cological conditions for larvae growth and development and greatly reduces the infestation of DendrolimusDuncts. A relatively stable and balanced forest ecosystem is the key for comprehensive cortrol of insect pests.
Calorific Value and Its Seasonal Dynamics of Fodder Shrub Species on Tianzhu Alpine Grasslands
LongRuijun, Xi Changlin, Hu Zizhi, Ding Wenguang, Zhang Yinsheng, Kang Tianfu
    1993, (5):  13-16.
    Asbtract ( 1304 )   PDF (462KB) ( 349 )
Shrubs tested have a higher calorific value in their dormant period than in growing stages, and Salix hasthe highest one, The calorific value of herbs is significantly lower than shrubs,.There are three monthlydynamic types of calorific value for shrubs:smooth(7 species), increasing(5 species ) and“V”(3 species)types. Same farnily or genus belongs to either same or different type, but different families or genera al-ways belong to the same type, The calorific value of shrubs is controled by their heredity and also influ-enced deeply by ecological environmental conditions under which they live.

    Asbtract ( 1095 )   PDF (353KB) ( 195 )
This paper presents some aspects of the comprehensive research on a Q.variabilis ecosystem in Bao-huashan Natural Reserve in Jiangsu Province, The annual litterfall amount is 5359. 5kg.ha-1 in this e-cosvstem from 1989 to 1990. with two peaks appearing in May and Novernber. The contants of five ele-ments(N,P,K,Ca and Mg) in litterfall and their dynamics are also discussed in detail.

    1993, (5):  21-24.
    Asbtract ( 1205 )   PDF (337KB) ( 263 )
This paper deals with the effects of pH, salinity, density and medium on the early stage-developmentand growth of Perinereis aibuhilnesis. The results show that the optimum pH for its hatching is 7.0-7.5, under which, suitable slinity is in the range of 15-40%, and The suitable density is less than 100 individuals per millilitre, The optimum pH for nectochaets growth is 6.0-9.5. During the periods offirst and second week after hatching, the optim、im salinity is 30-35% and 20-29% respectively, andthe optimum denxity ranges from 10 to 80 individtial;per milliltre,Muddy is a fine medium and the opti-mum density is 0.35 individuals·cm2.
Microbial Groups and Enzyme Activity in Soil of Lushan Mountain
Lu Yangsen, Xiong Jinlian, Zhang Ming
    1993, (5):  25-28.
    Asbtract ( 1227 )   PDF (343KB) ( 241 )
The total number of microbes varies in different soil types of Lushan Mountain, being the highest(1.2×109 numbers g dry soil)in mountainous yellow brown soil. The ecologial distribution of various microbial groups in different soil types is simllar.Bacteria is more than actinomyces and fungi. No nitrifying bacte-ria can be found In solls of Lushan Mountain because of the lower soil pH. Microbes in upper soil layer are more than in bottom layer.Soil urease activity has a poxetive correlatiOn with the number of soil mi-crobes and the contents of soil organic matter and soil nitrogen, Mountainous yellow brown soil has the highest number of microbes, and its urease activity is the highest.
N Balance in Agroecosystem of Bishan County after Applying Nitrogenous Fertilizers
    He Xinhua
    1993, (5):  29-35.
    Asbtract ( 3827 )   PDF (586KB) ( 193 )
The input and output of nitrogen and grain yield during 1949-1980 in Bishan County are analysed. Theresults show that nitrogen consumption is higher than its accumulation(-31.6%,+14.0%)and the ra-tio of organic-Nto chemlcal-N is obviously in disorder (2.00:0.67).It is suggested that nitrogen bal-ance can be maintained through planting green manure crops and properly applying manure and chemicalfertilizers.Raising the utilization rate of N fertilizer and the econornic effect of manure can increase thegrain yield and income in agricultural production.

    Asbtract ( 1141 )   PDF (284KB) ( 213 )
The world-wide researches on allelopathic effects of wheat straw are summarized and the current situa-tion on isolation and identification of allelochemicals from it is presented.which will give a guidance inour theoreticals tudy and productive practice.
Basic Characteristics, Existing Problems and Their Solutlons for Spruce Forest on Sandland of Baiyi-naobao Natural Reserve,Inneer Mongolia
    Xu Wenduo
    1993, (5):  39-44.
    Asbtract ( 1288 )   PDF (527KB) ( 177 )
Spruce forest on sandland is a special type of terrestrial forest ecosystem, which only exists at the edge ofthe Xiaotengeli deserth Inner Mongolia, Mongolia flora is the dominant species in the forest, which also includes Xingan and North China flora,The composition of the forest is quite simple, and the arborous layer is a compound uneven-aged one.The forest not exhibit the habitat characters of mountainous darkconiferous forest, its regeneration must be achieved under shady copditions, and its succession must goon frorn psammophytic pioneer plant community stage, rhizorne grass community stage, shrub stage, andfinaly to a relatively stable spruce forest. For managing sandland spruce forest,it is imperative to solve the problems of spruce classification, natural reserve distribution, forest disease and insect pest preven-tion, and introduction and enlargement of spruce forest area, etc.

    Li Xiouhong
    1993, (5):  45-48.
    Asbtract ( 1077 )   PDF (370KB) ( 228 )
The overall and long term impacts of water resource shortage and water pollution on economic develop-ment, human life and ecological environment in Shenyang are discussed in this paper. It is pointed out that in order to solve these problems,a reasonable control policy and corresponding technology must be adopted in combining with the development and Conservancy of existing potential water resource.

    Asbtract ( 1209 )   PDF (279KB) ( 217 )
Two year old grafted seedlings of mulberry and 4 instar silkworm are tested under fumigation with dif-ferent concentration phenols. The results show that,(1) after acute injury by phenol, leaf production ofmulberry ixreduced by 20%,leaf quality is deteriorated with a decrease of water soluble sugar and coarseprotein contents by 31.8% and 19.9% respectively;(2) after 5 times fumigation, the yield and quality ofsilkworm cocoon is deteriorated, adult spawning rate is extensively reduced, and the proportion of unfer-tilized eggs is significantly increased, which are detrimental to silkworm breeding,
