AN EMBRYONIC FORM OF EQUILIBRIUM OF AGRO-ECO-SYSTEM IN MID-SICHUAN BASIN REGION——LINSHAN PEOPLE'S COMMUNE OF YANTING COUNTY
    1983, (1):  1-6.

This raper introduces a people's commune in Mid-Sichuan Basin of China. It is an embryonic form of equilibiam of system and shows the way getting a better production within a short period. The experiences include: (1) a justing water resource to assure a harmonious wtater sapply needed by the new and well balanced ecosystem, (2) enriching soils of this region constantly with organic matter by planting Alnus and Cypress on higher hills; (3) building terrace land on more thin-layer and slope nplants. The main advantges of this eccsystem built by this way are as follows: (1) making a big progress in increasing the species of birds and moist-like plants; (2) raising crop yields year after year in the same site; (3) obtaining soils with higher festility; (4) inereasing the with standing capacity of the system to natural calamities.
BIOMASS AND NUTRIENT CONTENT OF CATHAYA ARGYROPHYLLA IN HUNAN PROVINCE

The present paper gives the primary determination results of biomass and nutrient content of 190-year-old average tree of Cathaya argyrophylla in Hunan province.Cathaya argyrophylla forest is very rare in the world. It is necessary to protect the stand as nature reserve.
THE BEHAVIOUR AND HAZARD OF ORGANOCHLORINE PESTICIDES IN ENVIRONMENT-ECOSYSTEM
    Cai Daoji, Yang Peizhi
    1983, (1):  12-17.
    Asbtract ( 1264 )   PDF (500KB) ( 258 )
With the comprehensive scientific experimental base of sgricultural modernization, this paper investigates the remaining, degradation and biological enrichment patterns of 666 and DDT in environment-ecosystem. Besides these, the evaluation of pesticide pollution in the region and its hazard to mankind is also made with the food sanitary criterion of pesticides and the allowable daily input (ADI)as the standards.
AN APPROACH TO THE RATIONAL COVERING RATE OF FOREST IN YANGZHOU REGION
Gao Lichun, Lin Boyan, Din Cuibai
    1983, (1):  18-22.
    Asbtract ( 1280 )   PDF (496KB) ( 166 )
With the strategic thinking of developing great agriculture as a basis, this paper discussed the necessity of developing forestry in Yangzhou region and the land resource characteristics in developing such affair in flatlands, collected some data and materials about the forest nets in crop lands and the planting of trees in"four sites" in nine brigades of Yangzhou region and put forward the index of rational covering rate of forest and the conditions and budgets for realizing this index in such region.
THE EVOLUTION OF ECOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT AFTER RECLAMATION IN THE GREAT NORTHERN WILDERNESS
    Tao Yan
    1983, (1):  23-25,41.
    Asbtract ( 1171 )   PDF (392KB) ( 251 )
With Beian County as a model, an investigation shows that daring the period of last 70 years, the increase of population and the activity of unchecked production changed the stable natural ecosystem of the Great Northern Wilderness and formed an extremely unstable ecosystem with farmland as the main component. From now on, a harmonious development of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry must be made.
FOREST ECOSYSTEM AND PROBLEMS OF ECOLOGICAL DISTURBANCE IN GUANGDONG PROVINCE OF CHINA
    Zeng Tianxun
    1983, (1):  26-28.
    Asbtract ( 1147 )   PDF (285KB) ( 212 )
In this paper, a review of related literatures was made and the ecological problems in Guangdong Province were discussed.1. A general consideration on the role of forest ecosystem in maintaining the balance of terrestrial ecosystem was made.2. A general situation of last 30 years forestry developement in Guangdong Province and the reverse effects of recent denudation were discussed.3. Four suggestions were put forward for solving the ecological problems in this province.
AN EXPLORATION ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS OF AGRO-ECOSYSTEM AND THE PRINCIPLES OF"SUIT MEASURES TO LOCAL CONDITIONS AND GIVE FULL PLAY TO THE SUPERIORITY"
    Pu Hanxin
    1983, (1):  29-32.
    Asbtract ( 1288 )   PDF (383KB) ( 173 )
Agro-ecosystem is an open system with dissipative structures. To carry out the principles of "Suit measures to local conditions and give full play to the superiority"correctly,it is necessary to deeply study and master the relationships between the system and its environment, the development characters and energy flow of the system.
    ON THE RECLAMATION OF STEPPE
    Cai Weiqi
    1983, (1):  33-36.
    Asbtract ( 1165 )   PDF (357KB) ( 147 )
According to the investigation data, the author indicated that if the characteristics of the energy and matter flows of agro-ecosystem were not considered and necessary additional energy and matter were not added, the productivity would be decreased gradually, which would destroy the ecosystem in an all-round way. Therefore, in steppe regions not posscsing grounds for establishing agro-ecosystem, reclamation work should not be proceeded, as for the reclaimed sections, they should be returned to a fine steppe ecosystem as quickly as possible.
ON THE HARMONIZATION BETWEEN MANKIND AND NATURE

It is necessary for mankind to understand the relationship between him and nature correctly. That is to say, mankind is not only the subject of the activity in transforming nature, but also the object affected by this activity. Therefore, in the produetive processes of transforming nature, mankind must strictly conform to the natural laws to maintain the stability of basic parameters of biosphere and harmonize the relationship between mankind and nature.
