Flora composition and species diversity features of Castanopsis eyrei community at Tiantai Mountain of Zhejiang Province were analyzed.According to the statistics from 10 sample plots, there are 122 species(including varieties) of 93 genus belonging to 48 families of vascular plants. In terms of geographical composition of seed plant genus, most of them are distributed in the temperate zone. The species diversity of shrub layer is the highest, the tree layer the second, and the herb layer the lowest in the vertical structure of the community. In terms of the specific-abundance distribution, the tree layer, the shrub layer and the herb layer plants all conform to the logarithmic series distribution, which shows that there are more open species than the enriched species, and that the community evenness is relatively low.The diversity order of the family-genus-species in the community is:genus-species diversity>family-genus diversity>family-species diversity.

In the course of studying Betula luninifera community at Weimin in Fujian Province, the interrelation between the growth rate of B.luninefera and its neighborhood interference index has been analyzed and the relation of its size, neighborhood interference index and growth rate has been found. The results show that the influence of neighborhood interference index and growth rate has been found. The results show that the influence of neighborhood interference becomes weak gradually among the investigated trees whose breast height diameter is over 10cm.So it is suggested that B.luninefera at Weiming should be forested before the breast diameter reaches 10cm.

To get high flower production of tuberose, growing media and NPK fertilizer proportion was determined accurately by polynomial regression quadratic equation (PRQE) in four elements. The partial derivatives from polynomial regression equation (Y6) was utilized for estimating the maximum production of tuberose flower. Results revealed coding level X1=-1.695, X2=-1.122,X3=0.311 and X4=1.151,which are converted into doses of trial factors, are KD-1-Hydrophilic gel/sandy-soil (HG/SS)=0.652%,(NH4)2SO4=14.39 (g穖-3),Ca(H2PO4)22O=25.75 (g穖-3),and K2SO4=25.89 (g穖-3).Therefore,Ymax =28.79 (number of flower穖-2).Results revealed that plant height was significantly influenced by the application of three major nutrients. However, number of leaves/plant increased non-significantly with the increasing level of NPK and HG/SS.Number of bulks/clump was also influenced by N,P and K as well as HG/SS.Application of higher levels of NPK showed profound effect on increasing flower production (number of spikes穖-2),and number of florets/spike.Therefore,higher doses of NPK are recommended for higher production of flower.

Reclamation, fishing, damming, building reservoirs, and channelization, the existing models of small stream use in Xishuangbanna,SW China are discussed based on detailed survey in 25 villages among 7 nationalities. The small stream use is not only a simple economic issue, but also has bearings on village's flood and drought regulation, community physiognomy, and traditional culture promotion.According to the prevailing national policies for conservation and development, the indigenous people and the authors discussed together the possible change trends for small stream use:traditional fishing and water and land resources use will be continued while channelization and fishing with electric tools will be abolished. It is indicated that small streams are playing important roles in rural development and that models of small stream use have roots into traditional cultures. It is recommended that small stream management should be one of the key acts in regional ecological management.

With the abundant natural grassland resources,Maqu County becomes the important stockbreeding base in the upper reaches of Yellow River.Eco-environment problems, such as grassland degeneration, land desertification, water and soil loss, and water resource decrease were incurred by population increase and stockbreeding development.Under the trend of global warming, human factors, for example, over loading and grazing, irrational dieforestation, and low input, etc., were the direct and radical reasons to deteriorate the vulnerable ecoenvironment.Technological, legal, administrative and economic measures, such as afforestation, artificial grass planting, grassland water saving irrigation and fertilization, industrial structure, adjustment scientific and technical education, high efficient management and so on,should be taken to control eco environment synthetically in order to realize the favorable circulation of eco system and the sustainable development of regional stockbreeding.
