Abstract: The climatic and topographic conditions were investigated and a trial was made to raise sheep in south China. It was found out that both the quality of wool and reproductive performance of sheep were better in the south than in the north grassland areas. Great significance was attached to the broadened raisement of sheep in the south for exploiting mountainous areas and stablizing ecological equilibrium as well as for the development of our textile industry.
