Abstract: PCP deg radation w as studied by test of simulation and pot culture and microbial ex periments.In the PCP-polluted ar ea total microbial quantity was unchanged and the main micr obial populations in cluded Bacillus,Streptomyces and Aspergillus.T he soil degr adation in dry far ming was mor e rapid than in paddy field.T he micro org anisms deg rading PCP w ere Acetobacter,A lcaligenes and A ero monas.T he photolysis of PCP in solution ex posed to U.V fer for msu(λ=320nm)was rapidy.
